Convert PNG to WebP online

PNG is a solid lossless format, but it is often larger than it needs to be for the web. Converting to WebP usually cuts file size while keeping transparency when you need it.

Why convert

Smaller images mean faster loads and less bandwidth. That matters most on mobile and on pages with many assets. WebP is supported in current major browsers, so most sites can ship it without a special fallback for typical traffic.

Size and quality tradeoff

Lossy WebP can look nearly identical to the PNG while using far fewer bytes. Lossless WebP keeps every pixel and still shrinks many PNGs. Try both on a real asset before you pick a default for your project.

When to keep PNG

Keep PNG if a toolchain, CMS, or partner only accepts PNG, or if you are editing a master file and do not want another encode step yet.
