pngcrush online alternative

pngcrush is a command-line tool that recompresses PNG files without changing the pixels. PixelCrush is a browser tool for the same job when you want a quick one-off and do not want to install CLI tools.

Honest limits

PixelCrush is not a reimplementation of pngcrush. Compression results will differ. If you need pngcrush's exact filters and trial modes in a build pipeline, keep using the CLI or a script that wraps it.

When a browser tool is enough

• You have one PNG (or a few) and need a smaller export now.
• You prefer not to upload the file to a remote compressor.
• You may also convert to WebP after you check the PNG result.

When to stick with the CLI

Use pngcrush or similar tools in CI when you optimize many assets the same way every build. Scripted CLI runs are repeatable and easy to review in git history.
